Tips to Scheduling Tweets to Boost Reach and Engagement | UV Designs

The majority of tweets on Twitter are organized and seen in reverse-chronological order.

Scheduling your tweets at the right time is crucial in order to engage with more followers, expand your target audience and increase your follower base.

With that being said, it wouldn’t be logical for social media managers to wait around for the perfect time of day to tweet. Thankfully, there are apps that social media managers can utilize to maximize their digital marketing campaigns by scheduling tweets in advance

Here are some tips for scheduling your tweets using the Buffer app.

Use Buffer to Schedule Your Tweets

Buffer is a handy tool that you can use to schedule your tweets. Once you sign up, head over to your dashboard, choose your Twitter profile and begin scheduling!

When crafting your tweets, Buffer allows you to add a link. This link will often prompt suggestions for images in order to enhance the post with graphics.

Consider this fact: tweets that have an image or a GIF usually stand out more on the timeline in comparison to tweets with only text, so make sure to always consider including an image or a GIF.

When you’re ready to schedule, you’ve got a few options. You can either:

  • Schedule your posts for a specific date and time
  • Add to the queue
  • Share the post right away
  • Share next (part of a paid plan)

Find the Best Time to Tweet

Determining the best time to schedule tweets is made easy by using Buffer’s Business’s Overview Report. This report consists of a chart that presents a breakdown of engagements earned for all tweets sent within a certain date range. Using this report, you can select the best time to schedule tweets in order to increase engagement with your audience.

Figure Out How Often to Tweet

Now that you know when to tweet, you’ll want to decide how often to tweet.

The best way to determine this schedule is by experimenting. You can try anywhere from three tweets daily, to as many as 50 or more. Keep your goal in mind, such as maximizing engagement or impressions. Check out how they change with every tweak in your tweeting frequency.

You’ll have to fiddle around with tweeting frequency to find that sweet spot, so make sure that you pay close attention to the changes with every tweak.

Schedule Your Tweets

Once you’ve determined the best rate and time to schedule your tweets, then go ahead and schedule them! However, automating your tweets doesn’t mean you should just forget about your Twitter after.

For starters, you’ll still need to engage with your audience, which means you’ll have to manually respond to comments and questions. Also, it’s important to make sure that your tweets are relevant, time sensitive and relate to current events. That means you’ll need to check in regularly to ensure that everything you’re posting is appropriate.

Does Scheduling Work for You?

Using social media management tools like Buffer provide you with the convenience to plan ahead in order to reach your goals more efficiently.
